Same… I was so sad that it just never grabbed me or spoke to me. I want to like Faulkner—I really do— I want to be intellectual and brilliant and get what the fuck he’s talking about but…alas… I am not, and I don’t.

Faulkner? Intellectual? Don't make me laugh.
Understanding Faulkner doesn’t make you intellectual and brilliant. It marks you as drunk/high/pretending. Not much to understand there, anyway. Faulkner was a jerk. Read something older and better. Old stuff gives you a right to be intellectual and brilliant, not this new crap.
