Crank is an overblown action movie: gratuitous violence and drug use, sweet stunts, a feeble premise, and a tiny dose of misogyny. Sometimes the camera work and use of graphics (especially in the opening credits) make it feel less like a movie and more like a video game, but the pace never slows down, so you just hold on to your seat and go with it. Jason Statham isn’t a great actor, but he’s got a certain…charisma that makes him immensely watchable. It’s like watching someone play Grand Theft Auto for an hour and a half, only a little more fun.
