Finally saw this! Liked it a lot, but am not sure if it’s kosher to like it for being campy and funny as opposed to moody and brilliant. :-)

I didn’t watch this until today because I assumed (because of the poster) that it was about some sexy robot. Alas, my loss! I really enjoyed it. Gorgeous gorgeous—design, music, ahhh.
Campy and funny? Ach! Some overacting, ja ja ja, but that’s pretty par for the course for the time period.
Unless you are Buster Keaton.
I did want to slap “hearty” (ha ha) Freder a few times (sorry).
