I infinitely prefer her “Car Wheels On A Gravel Road”. Or Neko Case’s “Fox Confessor Leads The Flood”.
This seems like a half-washed effort from Williams, who can do better.

Jury's still out but...
I don’t loathe this but the number of really “grabber” tracks seems less here. So far only “Are You Alright?” and “Unsuffer Me” really have me even though I really like CAR WHEELS.

I agree, Car Wheels is incredible. This album feels profoundly influenced by the loss of her mother, so it’s not as easy to listen to. But having lost a parent, it resonates with me.
