Even though this book is categorised on the spine as “non-fiction/travel” (which I didn’t see until I’d finished it) and a Bill Bryson comparison on the cover I thought this was fiction. It spun in so many things from the real world, like the author playing with Lloyd Cole and the Commotions and Newt Gingrich visiting Ireland.

It’s about someone moving to Ireland. It’s a great story, I recommend it.

My favourite bit is when he says he was in the Commotions and someone asks him which one he is. “Scary Commotion” he replies.
