WORTH CONSUMING!
Orson Scott Card is one of my favorite authors. This book starts off pretty slow and it takes about 75 pages to get into the story. It isn’t like his other books, but it kept me interested and looking at the world a little differently.
It is an “alternative present” story. Not like Alvin Maker, which is “alternative history.”

It’s more a speculative future story…if you look at the details, this could take place in ‘08 or ‘12.
