WORTH CONSUMING!

The movie has such violent scenes because I believe that someone (Mel Gibson) finally had the balls to portray the real suffering of Christ. I think its a good way to wake up Christians and show them what was done for them so we can truly appriciate the gift we were given. Yes it is not a good movie to show children of course (as I believe the rating reflexs- its rated R hello!) The Passion is the suffering of Jesus Christ, so don’t be surprised that you saw suffering.

First of all christ wasnt crucified for christians. He was crucified for our entire race. Your statement is also kinda ironic.

“good way to wake up christians”? First of all in this context, Christians, so to speak have already come to the realisation of christ being the saviour. Therefore its a good way to wake up the non believers ;)

Sorry i dont mean to pick, you just sorta contridicted my beliefs

I’m not sure how Christians are in Sydney, but I notice among Christians in the United States, we have a sort of “entitlement” attitude—we tend to take all we have been given for granted, as if we are somehow entitled to what we have been blessed with. And instead of being thankful and finding ways to use our blessings to bless others, many of us just want more and more and more. While I believe God does love us and wants to bless us, He never intended for us to become self-absorbed and self-indulgent, but that is what I see among many Christians in the U.S. Perhaps that is what starry_sky meant when she talked about waking up Christians. Because He was crucified for us. We are, after all, a part of the whole world for which He died and He has entrusted us to share His love with others.
