WORTH CONSUMING!
Wong Kar-Wai is an absolute genius when it comes to interweaving an in-depth yet fairly simple narrative with stunning and calculating visuals. This film is proof of that. I’m glad Criterion recognized that as well.
The film moves at a somewhat slow pace, but it makes up for it by melting your mind with gorgeous cinematography and a haunting soundtrack that will keep you watching until it’s over. It’s absolutely beautiful.
If you’ve never seen a Wong Kar-Wai film before, this should be a good introduction.

Did you really find anything fantastic with that mellow-dramatic story? If this is like the way you described, I cannot imagine what you’ll say abouy someone like Antonioni, or maybe Kusturika.
anyway, good to hear that from you.
