Manhunter is an odd book: too mainstream for indie fans, too obscure for fanboys. The series had been in serious trouble but a grassroots campaign granted a reprieve, thanks in part to good trade sales. I got this to complete my Manhunter stories, after coming late to the series. With this excellent book, the character is well-established and her motivations are clear: you get action, adventure, drama, and comedy. The writing and art complement each other both in the shadows and the light of day. Comics fans, give it a shot: Kate Spencer might not always be likeable, but Manhunter is.
