This was my first exposure to Eddie Izzard, and I was very pleased. He’s got a delivery that reminds me of Billy Connolly, but he’s definitely got his own style and outlook. Great stories, amusing accents, and jokes that come out of nowhere. The album’s from 1997 and has a little bit of topical humour, but it’s still very funny without being obscure. I highly enjoyed the story of the beekeeper, Noah’s Ark, chocolate biscuits, and the book of Revelations, as well as all the tangents he goes off on. Definitely recommended for standup comedy fans. Now I need another album!
