When I first started this book I had a hard time getting interested in it. Once I got to about the middle though things really picked up and I realized I was hooked on it! This book really inspired me to want to know more about history and the arts, and made me long to travel. This was a wonderful story, I can’t wait for more from Kostova!

Definately one of my recent favorites! I loved the setting – a realistic vampire story during the cold war in Europe? Awesome job.

I agree. This scratched the travel bug in me that has been lying dormant, and makes me want to explore places that I might not have previously considered. I thought the middle of the book was a bit long-winded, but overall so so excellent.
