WORTH CONSUMING!
This movie is just like life, except better, because it isn’t happening to you. You feel almost everything the protagonist feels; you feel sorry for him, hate his brother, ect., ect. Could have done without the Hollywood ending though… it was interesting without the sex and car chases.

But that’s the whole point! There was no story in The Orchid Thief; his agent told him to make up a story; Charlie wanted to do something original; Donald suggested the cliches of sex, drugs, and car chases, which Charlie rejected, as he was trying to write something about “real life,” and in the end, all of that happened. It’s satire. It’s irony.
