Definitely did not compare to the book (but really what movie does?), I expected it to be far more entertaining than it was, but it was definitely worth watching… just to see how the movie would portray some aspects of the book, or if it would show them at all. However, the movie never really took ahold of all of my attention.

My favorite scene, which lasts about two minutes, is when Augusten has to get his stomach pumped at the hospital. I thought it was very gripping and the most emotionally captivating happening in the whole movie(!).
