A story about this — 3 years ago

I typically like independant films which center upon the interaction and dynamics of the characters and their relationships…This movie, wasn’t quite what I expected I guess. In fact, I don’t ever remember seeing a preview that truly portrayed what this movie would be about. I, like many others I think, rented it simply because Jen Anniston was in it.

I thought the movie was a bit weak in areas, and circled around SO much, that it didn’t fully delve into each of the individual characters’ dilemmas enough. It was like a tease…it divulged what they were, and left you thinking alot, to figure it out yourself. Too much was left to the imagination…especially with the gay husband. Jennifer’s character “Olivia” was far too needy, desperate, self destructive, and pathetic. All of the characters were interesting, and complex, but the story itself was weakly and vaguely played out.

I found the ending completely abrupt and felt like too much was left undone, unsaid, unresolved. I was frustrated at the end of this movie. Maybe that’s what the writers wanted? I don’t know…but I wasn’t very impressed overall.

Your weaknesses I see as strengths of this movie.

It’s showing these slices of life of these people. It’s a good thing that it leaves you thinking about the situations and the characters. Use your imagination and explore the questions left to you.
