WORTH CONSUMING!
Poor Barton. When the wall paper starts peeling off the walls on its own things aren’t looking so good. This is another brilliant Cohen brother’s film. John Turturro plays Barton Fink the mild-mannered writer and John Goodman plays Charlie, his hefty neighbour. As Turturro struggles with his futile attempt to write a wrestling picture, he may wish he had never made the trip to LA, or had Charlie knock on his door! No one is madder than John Goodman when he wants to be!! Better have a cold drink handy for the climax of this picture. And what did you think was really in that box anyway??

Some ideas for the box...
The secretary’s head, his soul, some chocolates (or maybe I’m just hoping on that one), nothing at all, the script for a wrestling film, his parents’ fingers, random eyeballs, kosher meats, a guide to the lower east side tenement museum (and hence complely anachronistic and thus ironic), his diary explaining everything, his batman outfit for halloween, a time machine that could take him into the future and see how his beloved lower east side of the common people is spurting trendy bars, a black hole, to suck him into a vortex of singularity (it’s a pretty sturdy box), some banana muffins, or a teddy bear called charles.
