NOT WORTH CONSUMING
What a great concept for a book … and what poor execution! I kept wishing this book was written by Augusten Burroughs or Jonathan Ames.
Sorry, Rodney Rothman: but you are so uninteresting! You could have made this book so fun! You could have made the experience so fun!
I think that within the first 20 pages, Mr. Rothman mentioned 3 TIMES that he used to write for Letterman, but still he had yet to say anything funny. I felt seriously let down.

the only reason people like augusten burroughs is because his subject is completely outrageous. his writing style is limited and pretentious at best. the fact that his “memoir” is being made into movie just shows how much people love to indulge in the miseries of others.

i like augusten burroughs because he is interesting and looks at life in a unique way. he seems like someone i’d enjoy spending time with … as opposed to mr. rothman, who seems like a dull bore. i doubt i’d enjoy a night on the town with rodney rothman, and usually i can enjoy the company of almost anyone.
by the way, i just started reading augusten’s Possible Side Effects, which deals with day to day situations and is also hilarious.
