Living with two Indian-Kenyan roommates inspired me to pick this up at the bookstore. The story is compelling and the bits of Kenyan history are much appreciated. I knew nothing about Kenyan independence before and after reading this book and discussing it with Jamie, I am familiar with bits of it. I was a little disappointed in what seemed to be soap-opera character removal, but other than that, it was excellent.
