A story about this — 3 years ago
So, I’ve resigned myself to a daily regimen of nasal spray, in order to help maintain my sinus health, as I have mold and ragweed allergies, which for me settle into sinus and ear infections. This sucks! I HATE HATE HATE having anything up my nose, having water up my nose (one aspect of my aversion to swimming), and certainly spraying anything up my nose, much less something with salt, or grapefruit seed extract, or olive leaf, or anything else – YUCK YUCK OUCH YUCK YUCK GROOOOSSS!!!
But, my Grandmother used saltwater every night before bed and never had these problems, so I will do it…
Needed to grumble about it, though. Thanks, all.

have you tried...
Inhaling steam from a bowel of water and a towel over your head?
Summer makes things more difficult but at night when it’s cooled down some I’ve found the steam from tea to help.
I don’t like things up my nose either and I’ve found that when my alleries kick up anything humid-sauna, tea, humidifier, bath etc. helps.
Hope your environment becomes less irritating!

Not recently, but
with this heat, I am generally taking showers both in the morning and at night, and the steam does lend some relief. Thanks for the suggestion, and the thought :)
(I know it’s not very…equanimity-ful, but I often feel irritation when things don’t “work” as they’re “supposed to” – things in my environment and my own body system – and I feel irritated that I have to “go to so much trouble” for relief, thus feeding my own suffering…)
Oh well, it is what it is – and it’s all practice!

This sounds kind of weird but if you do it in the shower it’s not that hard. You dissolve 1tbls of sea salt in warm water, then snuff 3 teaspoons up your nose. Let it stay for 6 min then lower your head toward your ankles. You get drainage and allergy sinus relief. It’s amazingly effective.
