It completes the Ring Cycle, but there isn’t much horror and lots of backstory.
HOWEVER
The end sequence before the well sequence – pure creepiness!

you seem to be a fellow horror movie consumer…have any recommendations for me? i’m a sucker for asian horror…if you haven’t seen pulse (kairo) i highly recommend, if you have, give a tale of two sisters a try (netflix is my friend).
