To prevail in the midst of angst is a feat in itself but to be capable of uplifting those around you in the face of atrocity is admirable, even heroic. It is a story of love, triumph, and sacrifice. Watching this movie made me tear up more than once. Benigni’s acting was superb and believable. For the most part, romantic segments in any movie annoys me but in this case it was perfectly orchestrated. The second half is intense and deeply moving. As a whole, a perfect lifter-upper. A must see, not once, nor twice, but for a lifetime.
