I was first introduced to Rachael Yamagata via iTunes. One of her songs was features as a free single of the week. I downloaded it, liked it, and shortly after, purchased the entire album. She does sound a lot like Fiona Apple, but her music is definitely unique in it’s own write. Her songs are well written, and terribly honest, not always showing the artist in the greatest light. However it’s this honesty that makes Yamagata such an engaging artist to listen to.
