WORTH CONSUMING!
How can you go wrong with Hitchcock? This movie has inspired and spurred on generations of filmmakers. Interestingly enough, if you ask many people what they remember most about this movie, they will tell you they remember the red blood running down the drain in the shower.
The movie was shot in black and white. There was no “red” in it.

I still can't understand...
…why they felt the need to remake it. It’s so memorable and iconic. I watched the original (as a supposedly jaded and desensitized child of modern media) a few years ago, and about crawled out of my skin because of the scariness!
As for Hitchcock – well, Notorious is not very good (too much romance for my taste, but it’s only my opinion) but it sure could have been. And it looks GREAT although the plot is not really up to par.
I remember reading that the “red” blood is actually chocolate syrup. Some things must have been easier to do when movies were shot in b&w.

chocolate blood and other Hitchcock anomalies
True. But then they actually had to make movies then. They couldn’t get the computer to do all the work for them.
