I remember lugging this book along to my school bookclub meeting at the age of twelve and showing it to my group. They were all like; “You.. read.. that?” I guess it seemed a bit old for me. ^^;

BUT AW. Michener is king. It’s a work of fiction interwoven with factual events and admittedly, I have never really read up on the actual history of Alaska, but I think it’s very well done.

Sadly, I think this is the only book of his that I have read (besides an anthology focussing on the parts of his books concerned with the animal kingdom), but I will soon change this.
