I loved the book as a child and had heard good things about the film from friends, so I walked into the theatre with very high expectations. Sadly, I found that the movie didn’t capture the breathless magic and wonder of the book, though the costumes and scenery were neat. At times, I even found the story slow and felt a little bit bored, particularly with the seemingly endless battle scenes.
