In high school, somebody gave me a tape that had the song “Sex Dwarf” on it. I knew nothing about Soft Cell at the time but I was instantly a fan of whatever this was I was hearing. I soon grew to love the whole album. I remember buying it on cassette at Tower Records in downtown Seattle and driving around with a couple of friends taking turns playing what we had all purchased. Listening to it now still makes me think of driving around downtown at night.
