From a FFVII Fan's Perspective... — 2 years ago
Being a huge FFVII fan, I can say that it was worth the wait for the movie’s release! I do expect reviews to be different from those that have played the game and those that are watching it with no prior knowledge to the storyline. This movie isn’t related to the previous Final Fantasy movie whatsoever. It took me over 40 hours to pass the game back in 1999, and movie developers aren’t going to spend over two hours to recreate the game’s intricate plot. The visuals were breathtaking, the sound effects were fabulous, and like the video game, the music was beautiful. If you are a FFVII fan, you will enjoy FFAC. Don’t expect chocobos in the movie though. As for those that haven’t played the game, this movie might not have much resonance and might be overrated, but the animated effects are still up to par. :)

Did you play Final Fantasy 8? I completed that, it was a cracking game.
G0tj3nn?
Didn't complete it...
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to finish the game! How long did it take for you to complete it? I remember having a hard time understanding how to use the materia system at first, since I got used to FF7. The graphics are much better, and I love Edea!

played it twice
The first time I played it on PC the game crashed on the 4th disk when I was flying the ship. I was not pleased, I had invested a lot of time maxing out the characters magic stocks and increasing abilities.
I played it again some time later and completed it on a different pc. I still maxed out most of the character/GF’s abilites. I tried to collect all the cards and follow some of the side quests.
I could not tell how long I played on it, but it was a long time.
I prefered Squall and Rinoa. Selphie was good too. Yes, the movie section’s were inpressive for their time.
