I find this to be my favourite B&S except possibly for BOY WITH THE ARAB STRAP. Usually they find themselves too concerned with making florid verse rather than settling for making tasty folk-inflected pop with a dash of 60s influence. It’s as though they’re embarrassed when they do something that might prove to have more than cult appeal.
