WORTH CONSUMING!
maybe i’ve turned cold-hearted, or maybe it’s my medication, but this movie wasn’t anything close to heartbreaking. not a single tear did i shed! perhaps it’s because i was expecting it to be so sad, that i steeled myself too well? at any rate, the movie was good. i liked the story and the style.

I don't think it is sad in a crying sort of way...
But it is definately a sad story. I think it is painful to watch Emily Watson do the things she does after her husband gets paralyzed. It is clear that she doesn’t want to do them and that it makes her feel awful and cheap and whatnot. But she does it anyway, in order to please her husband. I think that is what is sad. I’m not quite finished with it yet, so maybe there will be some change in my opinion.
EDIT: Nope, no change really.
