NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I played this game since the start of the beta until a year after it came out. The beta was fun, mainly because people were a lot more laid back about it due to characters being erased afterwards. However, retail was awful. The missions were the only thing remotely worth while.

To level efficently, you had to have the perfect balance of job and subjob. Want to have some odd combination of fighter/mage? Good luck getting a party. Not only that, you need the perfect party combination. Otherwise leveling is slow and boring.

Soloing in this game is pretty much a no, so if you like waiting looking for a group for hours, or only want to level in a party, then you’ll enjoy it.

Quests… those are pretty pointless. Unlike games like World of Warcraft, you get no experience doing quest. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a decent item. Thus also eliminating another fun aspect of soloing.

If you are lucky like I was, you’ll get a static party where a bunch of you will level together. However, be forewarned, while some people are nice and will work around everyone’s schedule, there are countless others that will expect you to drop things at the drop of a hat to level and might even expect that you put the game above everything else.

It’s not a horrible game, but definitely not the best out there. Had the ability to solo, experience giving quests, and more party versitility been taken into consideration, it could have been one of the superior ones.
