A glimpse into another world — 3 years ago
WORTH CONSUMING!
I enjoy fiction that opens a door to a place I’ve never been. Hosseini gives us a glimpse into Afghanistan in the 70s & 80s, expatriate life in the US in the 90s, and a small look at the Taliban era. He paints a universal portrait of love, jealousy, betrayal, guilt & redemption. There are few brutal scenes that are difficult to get past, but carry on – the book is worth finishing!

Looks interesting
I’m waiting for a friend to finish with her copy. Loved the opening paragraphs.
How are you enjoying your All Consuming experience? One of the Robots just suggested it to me, but I sort of fear for my sanity… or for my job, if I spend anymore time on the soon-to-be 43Sites-that- obsess-me!

I haven't used it that much yet
and I agree…. oh no, not ANOTHER timesink.. but I think it is a good place to park stuff about movies and books and music rather than take up space on 43things.
