All Consuming

A story about this — 6 years ago

Restak is a clinical professor of neurology at George Washington University and the author of 12 books on the brain and neurology. This is the first I’ve read.

“Mozart’s Brain” puts forth, in layman’s language, explanations of our brain’s functioning, how it is affected by the environment and aging, and how we can improve it. It makes for fascinating reading, particularly if you wish to understand the effects of long days at a computer monitor and how to counteract them.
Also of interest are Restak’s ideas on how the growing trend to image-based communication is altering fundamental human brain structure. Very interesting reading.
