WORTH CONSUMING!
The hulabaloo being raised over “Kafka On the Shore” raised my interest in this author so a friend sent this to me.

Same here
Well, my friend sent me Kafka, and I bought this one. I’ll probably buy another of Murakami’s books this week.
I enjoyed kafka better though. I felt like the ending of the Wind-Up Bird Chronicle was just too weak. Maybe I expected more though.

I’m expecting a lot too, since I finished Kafka (loved it) and have been told by almost everyone that Wind Up is superior.
I didn’t actually finish it when I made that first comment because I got it as an e-book and I don’t have an e-book reader; it’s a real pain to read anything too long on my laptop. I finally have the paperback now.

I just filled
I put most of Murakami’s books on my Amazon wish list. I like his style and Kafka actually got me reading again.
Now I’m reading All Tomorrow’s Parties by William Gibson.

Ok I finished “Wind-Up” and…still not sure what to think about it. Haha. It’s certainly a more ambitious novel than Kafka, the themes covered in that book were more magnified but…while I admire it, “Kafka” is definitely first in my affections. I’ll probably re-read “Wind-Up” at some point and see how that goes.
I’ve started another one of Murakami’s books now, one that the same friend has sent me: South of the Border, West of the Sun.
Hmmm, never tried Gibson, he’s sci-fi and I don’t read that genre. Usually.

Yeah
All Tomorrow’s Parties is actually a tough read. I’ve not been able to sit down and read a bunch at time, so chapter by chapter, it’s not going so well.
Maybe this weekend I’ll have some free time and start it over.
How is South of the Border, West of the Sun going?
