Acoustic guitars, electrics guitar. Soothing melodies, rockin’ hooks. These guys have it all, and they make it all work. In some songs the Subways are bright swingy pop. In others they put forth a crushing rock sound. This dichotomy starts with the first track, “I want to hear what you have got to say,” where they move from a folk guitar verse to a get-your-ass-up-and-move rock chorus in about a minute.
